Kindergarten!

Kindergarten, I can't believe it. I just signed Sophia up this morning. She will begin full day Kindergarten in the fall. I'm so excited for her. I think this kid has been ready for it since she was about 2. Yes she is my daughter and I am biased, but she is a very smart, intuitive, and creative little kid and never ceases to amaze me. She was speaking in sentences when she was 1 (no exaggeration) and now at 4 she is correctly using words like incessantly and predicament- she amazes me!!!!
On a side note... I just signed up my OLDEST child for Kindergarten...What the hell were we thinking - 4 kids in 4 years!

"Nope, No Penis Yet!"

Yes it is true there is something different about these babies and Abby has just discovered it. They have a strange little things in their diapers... Yes that is correct Abby has discover the penis. She has realized her little brothers have them and she loves to see them, comment on them and unfortunately for the boys she will occasionally try to grab them. At each diaper change we hear things like "oh look at the cute little penis, you see it mom" or the wonderful "oh no he's got poop on his penis, clean him mommy". Sophia thinks they are gross and weird looking and she isn't very interested in them. She has the understanding that boys have them and girls don't. Abby however has started looking between her legs and checking to see if she has grown a penis. Thankfully each day when she checks she announces "Nope, no penis yet!"

*I thought about adding picture to this post, but then I thought again.

The Renegade Princesses

Sometimes I worry about the whole idea of the girls wanting to be the beautiful princess and the stereotypes that come with that typed of play...then I listen closely and I hear the beauty of the Renegade Princesses. My girls like to be pretty, fancy and made up, but they also like to be the smart, fearless, save the prince type of princess sisters. They spend their days singing songs, exploring, chasing zombies and of course "saving the real prince from the bad prince that dressed and acted like a prince, but was really a bad guy". I hope they remember that "bad prince" when they start dating. They find their special powers under rocks and in trees. They use tools (saws and hammers) to save the day and build forts. There is always a wooden spoon on hand to mix up a potion and microphones for the impromptu princess concert. They pretend for hours a day and I am always entertained and amazed by their imagination!

Tired and Uninspired

I apologize for my lack of blogging lately. The boys have been taking turns sleeping at night and that makes for a tired and uninspired me! And to be honest my booger treasure chest and nipples post evoked so much response I feel this pressure to be funny and creative and possibly topless... Anyway...Updates-Life here has been busy without actually doing much more than daily activities.
The Boys- They are now eating food 2 times a day and loving it. They especially love pears, the first few times they ate them they were hysterical with laughter. With each bite they would giggle away so cute!!! We really need to get a video camera. They were both just under 12 pounds at their 6 month check-up, little but doing well. Charlie is crawling like crazy and starting to pull up on things that are low to the ground. Simon is mobile, rolling and pulling himself around a little more, no quite army crawling, but almost.
The Girls- Fantastic little ladies, they have been making me laugh so much lately. It is very cool to watch them play together, they love to pretend and the stories they come up with are hysterical (I'm working on a special Renegade Princess Blog, complete with pictures and things overheard- hopefully it will be completed by the end of the week.)
The Parents, The House and Java- We are good, lack of sleep has us slipping back into survival mode, leaving the house on the back burner. Rich had managed to build us some awesome closet organizers, now I need to find the energy to unpack some more and utilize them. We have 2 deer that have made a home in our backyard. They lay right behind the swing set and look in our windows all day. It was cool at first, but now I'm concerned about the spring (playing in the yard, ticks and Java). Java is great, but ready for spring deep snow is not good for old dog legs.
Lastly some pictures to make up for lost time! I'm having some technical difficulties and can't seem to caption the pics. So here is the rundown...the boys serious looks, Sophia and her gorgeous eyes, Grandma and Boompa with all 4, super shot of 3, an attempt at all 4, Abby's awesome cheeks and me and my girls.
