A fat man in a red suit does what????

Please take these damn hats off us!

"I'm out of here" says Charlie as he rolls away sick of flashes in his face.

We are going to kick some Christmas Ass!

Ahhhhh.....Mayham

4 unhappy children
3 of them crying
2 boys really screaming
And Sophiaaaa in a pear tree

Ahhh the Christmas card. I remember Sophia's first Christmas, we had soooo many good pictures we did 3 or 4 different versions of the card.....Then Abby- I think we still did 2 different ones the first year. Now we have 4 and trying to get all 4 in one decent picture is tough! Thankfully the picture places are hip to the difficulty and make the cards with multiple pictures on them.

Turkey Talk

Just a brief Thanksgiving update with some pictures- Yes I know it is late...but at least it isn't Christmas yet!!!!

The girls and I made some fun turkey cookies as seen in the above picture (inspired by Mrs. Jan, Sophia's awesome teacher).

We spent the the holiday with Rich's family and it was strongly reinforced that I was strictly a vessel for my children and they may not contain any of my genes!!!!

Brother's holding smaller versions of themselves!!!!

Then there is cousin Brock he is 3 and Charlie looks so much like him!!!!!!

As long as they don't look like this...I love you John, but shave!!!

I'm still here...I think!

I've been a little busy...sorry for not blogging. I still have Thanksgiving pictures to put up, hopefully I get them here before Christmas.
Things are good here, shopping decorating, unpacking and all the normal Christmas stuff. The girls are super excited about Santa.
As for the Ice Storm, we were out of power for 60 hours and had to stay at my Mom's for a couple of nights while the house froze and the basement flooded. Everyone was very well behaved, adults included. The girls were great and thought the sleepover was cool. As for the basement...it is cleaned up, just need to do a little wash down with bleach and water to prevent any mold. We lost a few things, but nothing of any significant value. We were very lucky!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We still have friends and family without power, some were told it could be another week!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unreal!!!!! I'm disappointed I didn't take any pictures it was really pretty amazing and the tree damage was wild, but again we were lucky and had none on our property.
Now I have to go and try to make 4 kids smile for our Christmas card picture, this will be attempt number 5. I may be giving up soon!

Army of Women-Helping to fight Breast Cancer

I am posting a link to Army of Women, a group sponsered by Avon and Dr. Susan Love. The following is an explination from their site.

The Love/Avon Army of Women offers women the opportunity to partner with the scientists who are conducting research that will end this disease--once and for all.
Breast cancer has been around for decades, but it does not have to be our future. We can be the generation that stops breast cancer once and for all by figuring out what causes this disease and how to prevent it!
Sign up for your sister, mother, daughter, granddaughter, best friend, and the woman you met last week. This is YOUR chance to be part of the research that will end breast cancer.
It takes a just a minute to join. But the impact we will have will last a lifetime.
Please Join Me in Being One in a Million!

http://www.armyofwomen.org/

Basically you sign up and can participate in studies if you fit the criteria- it can be a survey, blood test, urine test...you get the picture. It is a simple thing that could help save the lives of people we love. Thank you!

A Political Post- Sort Of

Better late than never I guess... I took Sophia to vote with me and it was very exciting for her. I did have to use my strong parental guidance and explain why we were not voting for McCain. For some reason she decided he was best...after long 4 year old style discussions I was was told "I'm my own person Mom! I can have a different opinion than you!" But then on her terms she came to believe that "BarackaObama" was 1. A fun name to say 2. He doesn't like fighting and 3. He wants to give money to schools. When we went to vote I explained we had to be quiet inside- Sophia then asked Church quiet or Library quiet? Very funny to me since we haven't been to church in who knows how long (sorry grandparents). We voted, she pushed the buttons and pulled the lever and really felt like her vote counted "even though she knows it doesn't until she is 18". As soon as we were out the door and on the steps she did a "Go Baracka- Go Baracka" dance and cheer and exclaimed very loudly "I hope Baracka wins mommy!!!! " A couple that was leaving at the same time enjoyed her dance and whispered their approval.
When she woke up the next day and found out Obama won she danced again and screamed "Our team won!! I'm so happy" This time I danced and celebrated along with her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Pledge of Allegiance - Sophia's version
This morning Sophia decided to say the Pledge to her brothers and it went like this...
" I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands: one Dalmatian under God...
SO freakin cute!!!!!!!!!!!

A Halloween Story- By Simon and Charlie

Once upon a time there was a little witch that always wanted things her way. Her life was turned upside down by all of her little siblings. One day she had enough and decided to put a spell on her little sister.
Everyone watched in fear as she started to chant and dance. Then she lifted her finger, pointed and began to cast her spell...

Bippity Boppity Bingo- I turn you into a FLAMINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Her little sister was shocked by her new appearance, but embraced her pinkness and did a little flamingo dance.
The witch was quite displeased with the joyous flamingo dancing and set off to turn her brothers into toads.

THE END

Happy Belated Birthday Abby!!!!!!!!!!!

Abby turned 2 on the 16th (that was supposed to be our closing date) so Rich's mom took the girls for a couple of nights to help us out. But that meant we weren't with Ab's on her birthday, can you say bad parents...we felt super guilty. Anyway with all the chaos we didn't have a party for her, just a cake with the 6 of us- yeah that's right we are a family of 6 now- still difficult to say without a wince or slight feeling of nausea. She loved her little cake and got to blow out the candles 2 times and seemed to really enjoy her birthday celebration even if it was a day or two late. There is a bonus to no party- she gets presents for weeks from family and she actually gets to play with each thing instead of being overwhelmed by the pile of gifts at a big party!
Side note: notice the lovely wallpaper in our new kitchen...I'm fighting the urge to rip it down before I'm unpacked!!!!!!!!!!!

Moving done, now show us your "Moves"...

After all the stress, it is finally ours and I'm so happy. The kids have adjusted surprisingly well and quickly! We are surrounded by piles of boxes and crap we should have thrown out instead of moving, but we are here in a great new house and we made it our own with our first "After Dinner Dance Party".
Background info... As many of you know music is very important to my husband and he loves to expose the girls to all kind of music and in turn the girls like to expose us to their "moves". So generally after dinner we have a dance party, our busy lives have canceled the dance parties for the last few weeks and life just wasn't the same without them!
So this weekend we had or first ever Dance Party in front of a blazing cozy fireplace. The girls thought it was the coolest thing ever and I felt like we were really home (excuse the sap...). Oh and for the record Sophia is a big fan of Irish music and Abby...AC/DC all the way, would you expect anything different?
So please feel free to visit our new place but be ready show us your moves...

We almost have a new house...

So our closing date of the 16th came and went with no closing...With moving truck packed on wed. we found out at 3pm we would not be closing the next day. Unsure of what to do with 90% of our belongings on a truck and no where to put them, I called the owners of our new house and told him what was happening. He, being one of the kindest men ever, said "oh just move in- I'll call my lawyers and let them know what's happening". It is so nice to deal with kind people in a business situation, I really don't think it happens often anymore. Anyway our closings are wed. afternoon and hopefully it really happens so we can unpack everything (scared to really do it yet...what if) and start enjoying our new home!!!!!!!!!!

They can SMILE!

Charlie Simon
Charlie
Simon

You would think by now I would remember when babies do things, but it still amazes me to see the boys smile in response to things so soon. Not only are they smiling all the time, but they have started cooing and "talking". It is amazing to watch the development, especially with 2.

WOW

Sometimes I have time to sit back and relax...ummm let me rephrase...sometimes I have time to shower and while I wash my hair I think -Holy Shit we have 4 kids!!!!!!!!!!!!! The last 9 almost 10 weeks have been quite a blur. This blur consists of- two infants, buying a house, packing this house, making the thousands of phone calls that go along with buying and selling a house and entertaining Sophia and Abby. If I actually take the time to think about it I have no idea how we are doing it. We are just doing what needs to be done and making it through... Stopping occasionally to realize we have some very cute, fun and super smart little kids along with great families to help us through this crazy time.
Things with the new house are going great the sellers have been super nice to us and are allowing us to get into the house and do some things before we move in. We are so sad to leave our house, but each time we are in the new one it feels more and more like our new home. My mind is starting to spin with decorating ideas. I can't want to be moved in so we can start some fun projects and really make it our own.

How's My Hair?

Sophia Goes to School

Sophia started preschool this week and she is the cutest with her little backpack. I can't believe she will be in kindergarten next year. She seems to like it, but she is playing it pretty cool and not giving too much info about it- except of course for her new habit of telling "stories". Like the one about how they taught her ballet all day, or the one she told her dad- "we swam in the pool all day and they let me go underwater whenever I wanted". Well there is no pool and there was no ballet so who knows what's happening in her little head.
When I dropped her off on the first day she told me to show her where the potty was and leave-"I'm fine". I'm sure she is and I love that she is, but she could have humored me a little...

We accepted an offer!!!

We received a great offer in the first week of our house being on the market and we accepted it-Yipeeeeee!!!!!!!! I can't believe it sold so fast, we are so relieved and excited. As long as things go smoothly (inspections, etc...)we will close in 4-6 weeks. I just can't believe it is happening so quickly!
We will miss this house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But we look forward to making the new one our home- our much bigger home... with 4 bathrooms and a family room and and office and a fireplace and a really ugly kitchen (our first project).
Now -time to pack during my free time- ha.
